About the Apostle Islands New Wilderness Management for the Apostle Islands
The National Park Service is proposing changes to the Apostle Island National Lakeshore. The document which includes all Alternatives is here. Please note that Alternative 4 and Alternative 1 keep the Oak groupsite in the current location. Please review pages 155-163 for a comparison of the "Alternatives". The Park Service has a Preferred Alternative that moves the Oak group site to the dock and Stockton sites. The park superindendent says that the best way for the Park Service to take notice of any concerns is to submit them in writing. Please read the document and submit any comments by October 23.

Car Show

Last night a couple of us explored the No. St. Paul car show. When it comes to vintage cars I liked the older style mustangs and corvettes, especially red ones.

It was a great opportunity to check out these timeless works of art.

You have to admitt they don't design cars like they use too.

August Apostles Trip

Here is the story.......

Yes my middle finger is broken. This past weekend a group of us were paddling in the Apostle Islands. When we landed at our campsite for the evening, I got out of the kayak and attempted to bring my boat closer up on the shore by its bungee cord handle. The bungee broke and sent me on the sandy beach. The impact caused my middle finger to break. It bleed a little, luckly the Silences of the Lamb Chop ER (U.S. Titan Captain) was open and he was able to patch me up.

The pain from my finger was a bit. So after we loaded up the Pyle of Wisdom and I went to the urgent care. The doc. ordered an x-ray and confirmed it was broken. The weekend spend in the Apostles with a terrific group of people was wonderful as always. A big thanks to them all for their help and an amazing time on the water, you guys rock!!!

Womyns Weekend Paddle - Apostles

Last weekend, our adventure brought us to Oak Island in the Apostles. This was my first Womyns paddle, but this year was it's third time being held. The event's organizer is the V.O.R. - Voice of Reason, and usual suspects on this trip were: the Mayor, P.O.W. - Pyle of Wisdom, the Aquapirate / Irish Pirate, Upper, Mary and myself. A good time was had by all.

Area Lake Paddling Fun

Today a group of us decided to explore a nice local lake. It was fun to play around in the water in another chain of lakes we had not paddle in before. A good time was had by all!
